SENA Mural project

Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje

Valledupar, Cesar, Colombia

2015

I was approached by Dr. Fredrick Gaines and asked if I would be interested in creating a multicultural mural that represented three ethnicities and clubs, UMOJA (African American), Puente (Latino), and Mana (Polynesian). His original concept is what grabbed my attention. I created a series of conceptual designs to present to the clubs.  At each meeting I would take notes on what they wanted, liked, and disliked. I then used the notes to come up with the final design.  I incorporated the ancestral roots of all 3 clubs and transitioned to the struggles and perseverance that they went through in the United States, and later transitioned toward student success and celebration.

Cris Cyborg Mural

Cyborg Gym

Huntington Beach, CA

2018

This is a mural that I did with my cousin, Chance O'Neil. He did the majority in spray paint and I came in to do finalizing touches and details. The mural is a reproduction of a mural that was done in Curitiba, Brazil when Cris Cyborg first debuted in the UFC. The mural was recently ordered to be taken down by the mayor of Curitiba. We did the reproduction in her honor for her upcoming fight against Amanda Nunes on December 29th 2018. The mural is now in her home gym.
